Living with hypersexuality is like riding a roller coaster that never stops. One moment you're on a high, and the next, you're holding on for dear life. It's a part of my story. I want to share what I've learned along the way and hopefully shed some light on an often misunderstood part of mental health.
Early Signs and Realizations
I first began noticing signs of hypersexuality in my teenage years. It wasn't like a light switch flicking on; more like a dimmer gradually brightening until one day it was impossible to ignore.
Teen Years: My interest in anything remotely related to sexuality seemed more intense than those around me. Friends would giggle at typical teenage crushes, but for me, it felt different—almost consuming.
Confusion and Curiosity: At first, it seemed like normal curiosity. Then I realized that these feelings were dictating my thoughts more than I wanted them to.
The "aha" moment came when I was scrolling through forums and saw countless others describing the same emotions. Suddenly, I wasn't alone, but it also meant confronting the reality of living with something beyond simple curiosity.
